Residents Enjoy Royal Celebration

To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, McCarthy Stone homeowners across the UK welcomed friends and families to their developments for a variety of special celebrations that were truly “fit for a Queen”.

From Oakwood Court in Inverness, to San Lorenzo Court in St Ives, homeowners from up and down the country rolled out the red carpet and hung up the bunting to celebrate the Her Royal Highness the Queen on her Platinum Jubilee. Come rain or shine, homeowners celebrated in style with various events, from afternoon teas and royal cake competition to swing music and crafts and quizzes.

Despite some strong weather warnings over 450 events took place over the bank holiday weekend, with many retirement homes marking the special occasion by planting trees or roses, whilst others welcomed their local community to their developments by hosting street parties in their gardens.

At Windsor House in Sheffield homeowners kicked off the celebrations with a Jubilee themed lunch, followed by live entertainment, a raffle and a garden party.

In Malvern, homeowners at Cartwright Court enjoyed afternoon tea and a cake competition, welcoming family and friends to enjoy the celebrations in the courtyard garden.

Residents at Haworth Court in Chorley got into the Jubilee spirit by donning union jack waistcoats for their themed Jubilee lunch.

Our homeowners at Glenhills Court in Glen Parva enjoyed a delightful cheese and wine afternoon in the communal lounge.

Homeowners at Thomas Court in Cardiff enjoyed a giant Jubilee inspired cake and fizz in the landscaped gardens.

Whilst in Southend, homeowners at Centenary Place planted 30 saplings from the Queen’s Green Canopy scheme and unveiled a plaque during their Jubilee Garden Party.

Commenting on the Jubilee celebrations, Resales Director, David Gabriel said; “The Queen’s Jubilee has been a truly momentous occasion, and one which has captured the full celebratory spirit of our communities. Whilst Her Majesty was not able to attend all the events over the weekend, McCarthy Stone residents have celebrated in style on her behalf and it’s great to see them having the time of their lives.”
